Happy GC

Since I was not interpreting this GC, I got two tickets to Sunday AM session. My friend Sarah and me went and had a wonderful time. What great talks! WOW! I just love GC and all the messages. They are alway spot on, exactly what I need to hear and think about!
How grateful I am for the restored gospel. It brings so much peace and happiness to my life!

Picnic in the canyon

We went on a picnic to see the changing leaves in American Fork canyon. Emily, Sarah and their children went with us. It was a lot of fun!

Fall picnic

As our Friday out, we went for a picnic at the Thanksgiving Point gardens. Unfortunately, there was a concert there so we couldn't get in, but lawns in front of the entrance was just fine for a fun little picnic and tons of laughs.

Left over cake decorating

This is our leftover cake decorating/frosting eating contest.
Both Tommy and Emma won the prize. Fortunately, Derek was not participating!

This is Tommy's creation - a volcano cake.

Having fun with friends

Ian and Noah were playing with us and we shot a few cute pictures.

Tommy and Ian focusing on their PSP game, of course Lego StarWars.

Emma, Derek, and Noah snuggling and giggling together.

We also had a lunch picnic up in the tower of our playground - how fun can chicken nuggets and apples be?

Go sharks, go!

Tommy had a fundraiser carnival at his school and part of it was a cake competition. We love to make and decorate (eat frosting) cakes, so we decided to do one and donate it. We planned our shark to be jumping out from the center, but the cake was too soft and the shark kept falling down. So we put three cupcakes/shells on the top instead. Then as I was all done and somewhat happy with the cake, I put it under the cake dome to "protect it" and smeared one side of the frosting decorations. Well - I went to bed (not very happy) and in the morning I painted a big shark on that side and that shark actually won our "Best school spirit" award. Here is our final creation. It was a spice cake inside - the leftover cupcakes were yummy :).
